Trace Heating For Frost Protection

Every pipe or vessel is subjected to heat loss when the temperature of the pipe is greater than the ambient temperature. Thermal insulation will help to reduce the rate of heat loss but won’t eliminate it and therefore you will need trace heating to inject that heat that was lost back into the system. The typical uses for this are on sprinkler systems that are exposed to freezing conditions and in buildings that need instant hot water like hotels and hospitals; They will be able to benefit from instant water at 60 degrees centigrade. It will also protect against legionella. We also install all of our systems with a Digitech thermostat which will enable you to have complete control over the system and even set the temperature values when you need the system to warm up the pipe and when you need it to switch off.

These systems aren’t only used to protect pipes from freezing but they can also be used for melting ice and snow on steps and slopes, Underfloor heating, Window de-misting and so much more. The possibilities are endless.
