Why Do You Need Fire Protection?

Fire protection in Hampshire can offer occupants more time to leave a burning building.

If you have a workforce that could get trapped in a fire, you must have the appropriate measures in place to allow them to exit the building safely. At the same time as protecting the occupants inside of the building, you will also be protecting the building itself. This is because the measures will help to contain the fire in one place, reducing the damage caused to the rest of the building. By doing this, you also help ensure that any necessary repairs will cost far less.

How Does Fire Protection Work?

Fire protection works by sealing each room in the building.

It prevents the passage of smoke, toxic gases and fire through gaps around mechanical heating and ventilation services via walls, partitions and floors. This helps create enough protection in any given room to give the people within the building enough time to exit without too much cause for panic safely. Also, as the system is passive, nothing has to activate it. This means it is essentially always there as a failsafe to help stop the spread of a fire. This system will give you peace of mind that no matter what, you and the occupants within the building are always protected.

What Does Our System Do?

Aptiva’s fire protection system complies with all aspects of health and safety.

Penetration ceiling systems are a fundamental requirement of the fire safety designs of all buildings. The Aptiva fire barrier systems incorporate high-density rock wool slabs with a white endothermic ablative coating. These coatings are designed to stop the spread of the fire through openings in fire-resistant walls and floors. Our barrier systems provide enhanced acoustic performance and fire protection for up to 240 minutes.

To comply with health and safety, the Aptiva workforce is trained in MSTS, CITB, CSCS, IPAF and PASMA.
